Live series mlb the show 239/23/2023 Ranging from six to eight weeks, seasons create a defined beginning and end to a specific stretch of Diamond Dynasty baseball that each has an accompanying set of cards. This year brings with it the introduction of sets and seasons that effectively act like The Show’s battle pass, which is a bit of a mixed blessing. It’s great for scratching that live service itch for those that enjoy the grind in a way that feels compelling, but not coercive. The cards range from today’s players to stars from the World Baseball Classic, legends of baseball’s past, to the featured players from the Negro Leagues. The basic idea is the same: you complete challenges or spend Stubs to unlock cards, which can then be used to assemble a team. The stories are entertaining, powerful, and often end with me in periods of quiet reflection.ĭiamond Dynasty, which combines baseball card collection with a slew of single-player and online multiplayer modes, has undergone a number of smart changes. Even as a lifelong lover of both baseball and history, most of what I saw and heard was new to me. It’s an important account that transcends baseball, and a credit to the developer for its inclusion. It formed long before the Civil Rights movement and did a lot to bridge a massive racial divide, bringing in audiences and filling the stands with people of all colors even as the players featured in these stories faced racism and segregation. The Negro Leagues storyline focuses on the triumphs of the players, but that doesn’t mean it shies away from the prejudice of the era and the reasons the Leagues existed to begin with. It all ties together in a cohesive package that’s equal parts history lesson and satisfying challenge. Instead, developer Sony San Diego thoughtfully recreated uniforms, equipment, and crowds from yesteryear. It would have been simple and safe to just add some throwback uniforms and a few legends to Diamond Dynasty. It’s a loving tribute to the Negro Leagues that didn’t need to be as detailed as it is. That also meant I was blown away when I took control of Paige myself, teammates kneeling around me without a care in the world, and sat down each of the hitters I faced. I could watch him describe the weather and I would be enraptured, but when he tells legendary stories, like when Satchel Paige called in the entire field of players to sit around him while he struck out the side in a game, I was on the edge of my seat. Kendrick speaks with tremendous passion and charisma. The video packages that accompany the players are poignant, funny, well produced, and lay out brilliantly what makes these guys giants in the history of the sport. MLB The Show 22 remains a very good baseball game, but it’s beginning to look like a star ballplayer on their way toward a post-prime decline. The push-pull between reliable small refinements and incomplete major additions is evident, and it’s the clearest sign of the limitations an annual release can have on the series so far. However, technical issues are a nuisance and co-op, the most ambitious new element, is fun but unfortunately underdeveloped. Hitting, pitching, and fielding remain sublime, and another year on the newest generation of hardware has virtual ballplayers looking even better. *Internet connection required for Season 3 update and rewards. The key modes in MLB The Show 22 are as fun as ever, which is no surprise given that most of them haven’t changed meaningfully. New Mini Seasons Challenge – Righty Tightyīuild a squad of right-handed batters and pitchers, or common players, then win the championship to earn All-Star Game Series Starling Marter in the all-new Mini Seasons Challenge – Righty Tighty coming to MLB The Show 23 July 21.īring the All-Star Game action home and batter up in MLB The Show 23. One of only 18 players to complete “baseball’s greatest single-game accomplishment” by hitting four home runs in a single game, New Legend Mike Cameron is a must-have for any Diamond Dynasty squad in Season 3. Chromium os for raspberry pi 39/23/2023 All of our Raspberry Pi 4 are from the early batches so we cannot comment on the automatic speed boost, but we have performed extensive overclocking experiments with the Pi 4 and found that with, adequate cooling, it’s easy to overclock the Raspberry Pi to 2.14 GHz. On the bright side, Bullseye comes with an added speed boost for newer Pi 4 models. The difference between the two is so small that’s probably within the margin of error and not noticeable. To find out how Bullseye runs applications, we opened a fresh Chromium browser to a blank tab, and Bullseye completed the task in 7.92 seconds while Buster handled it in 7.74 seconds. Bullseye drags behind at 28.48 seconds, a delay that we can really feel. has seen many updates and tweaks to the boot process. For now Buster is the clear winner, clocking in at 21.84 seconds, which makes sense since the older OS. On our test Raspberry Pi 4 with 4GB of RAM, we booted Bullseye and Buster and timed from the appearance of the rainbow image to a usable desktop. Performance of Raspberry Pi OS Bullseye vs Buster We ran Chromium via the terminal, as any errors would be output and saw reference to an “ service” which we assume is automatically part of Bullseye. General browsing on Chromium 92 in Buster worked well, as and bbc.co.uk both loaded and rendered flawlessly. However, in my testing, YouTube crashed every time we loaded a URL so that’s a bad sign. Theoretically, you could get the benefits of Chromium 92 on Buster as the new browser will install in the old OS. YouTube showed some frame drops in its “Stats for Nerds,” menu option but we didn’t notice any disruptions with our naked eyes. However, 1080p 30 playback was very good. It wasn’t a total slideshow, but was bordering on unwatchable. When we played the Big Buck Bunny test video, we saw that 1080p 60 playback was still poor. With Chromium 92, we find that 720p video, windowed and full screen, plays back exceptionally well, with just 1 percent of frames dropping. With older Raspberry Pi OS releases anything above 720p is a slideshow, and full-screen 720p is also not an enjoyable experience. Version 92 of Chromium takes advantage of the Raspberry Pi hardware acceleration to really speed up streaming video. Bullseye also brings an update to the Chromium browser.

Msi utility command center9/23/2023 That type of build might get me jazzed up for the 7850k. But the only build I would even think about using a Kaveri APU in would be a mini-ITX PC/HTPC or laptop.īeyond that, I would love to see Lian-Li come out with a tiny case like the PC-Q02, PC-Q09 or PC-Q12, but with the design for a single 120mm CLC and a 300W SFX PSU to allow a decent overclock on a 7850k APU with the smallest form factor possible (i.e. Perhaps the A88x chipset has some feature benefit for building something using the 750 or 760k CPU in a budget build. Although I'm very excited about doing that build, I can't see any use case that makes sense for a Kaveri APU in an ATX form factor. Myself, I'm waiting for the A8-7600 to build a very small (< 3 liters) ITX HTPC running the APU in 45W mode. first, a10 7850k itself has to come down in price by $40-50 outside microcenter.Įven beyond price, ATX seems pointless with a Kaveri APU. It boggles the mind that they consistently fail to find such obvious shortcomings, when everyone else finds them pretty quickly. To solve the annoying procedure with conventional utility installation, MSI Driver Utility Installer provides users an innovative solution to ease the utility installation. And now, it's clear the memory performance optimizations were far from complete. Considering the long development cycles for these devices, it's hard to understand how AMD couldn't figure out a proper cooler for the Hawaii, or have drivers degrade performance so much for Kaveri, that within a month or so they were able to increase performance so dramatically. After being shocked at the horrible performance of the Kaveri, and the almost complete failure of it, between the driver update, and advantage the Asus has, it's clear AMD pulled another "Hawaii", and put their technology in the worst possible light by not packaging it with the proper associated support technologies. I thought the days of one motherboard having significantly faster memory timings than the other died with the IMCs. It most likely was the somewhere in the 13.6 to 14.1 range, though. Another site did benchmarks comparing 13.6 and 14.2, and the difference was dramatic. Also, there's a chance there's a big performance gain from Catalyst 14.2, instead of 14.1. Adhd life hacks9/23/2023 Most of the “work from home tips” for neurotypical humans aren’t effective for people with ADHD who are attempting to working from home. When your ADHD brain doesn’t have enough to focus on it’s easy for it to create distractions, or just get bored and shut down to nap. But I’ve realized it’s a very ADHD thing in general It seems counterintuitive that it would be easier to focus with more distractions rather than with less, but it’s the reality of my life lately. Why is it easier to focus in a coffee shop than at home or in your office? My goal? Recreate a coffee shop experience in the living room hoping for added focus. So today, on a Monday morning 3 I’m attempting a reset by moving my office area to the living room of a house shared with eight other people. I’m hoping it’s a location thing rather than a brain thing. I thought if I only had quiet space to focus I could things done. We’re living with family temporarily and my temporary office was in the garage. I think it may be the result of too much change rather than not enough. I’ve not been able to find my groove since. Then we moved to a new state and a new temporary environment, after taking several months off work to recover from major surgery. For a while I was able to trick my brain by moving to the couch in the living room or the dining room table. This has also been the hardest thing to figure out while working from home during Covid, because sitting in a coffee shop for hours is simply not safe or healthy.īecause the ADHD brain is primed for novelty and rejects any sort of boredom, these changes in scenery are how I keep my brain happy. As a writer this groove is essential for my success. This was incredibly effective for finding my groove 1 for most writing projects. In the “before-times” when I’d hit a rut in my home office I would change locations and head to a coffee shop for a change of scenery.

Genesis noir walkthrough reflection9/23/2023 Speaking of flipping and stacking - Tetris! Or the all-consuming donut hole of Donut County. Or Wilmot's Warehouse, where ordinary actions like holding items, stacking or flipping them make a game I've played for hours. There's a number of games I see the same way - the brilliantly colourful puzzle boxes of KO_OP's Gnog, which rarely ever tells you what to do and simply lets you explore what's possible in each of its tiny worlds. But games like Genesis Noir are different. Point-and-click is often the genre that has become an example for a more narrative-focused type of game, because clicking in itself isn't much. I guess you could call it a point-and-click game in the most literal sense of the term - you point your mouse at things, you click, and something happens. At no point did Genesis Noir tell me what to do or how to do it, but with relatively modest means, I click here, a pulled object there, I made my screen come to life in a myriad of ways.Īfterwards I put my controller down and I wondered if what I had just played was a game. I spun a train through the void using my mouse. I peeled the world back panel by panel like a comic book. I played a call and answer duet with another hat-wearing musician by clicking on onscreen elements like piano keys. I created skyscrapers by playing swanky saxophone solos. This is a story told without words, and the portion I've played wasn't even really a story, either. Similarly, the demo that's been making the rounds since 2018 doesn't help me arrive at any solid impression. I honestly have nothing further to add than an expectant and encouraging look, because there is something so Pratchett-like about treating the birth of our observable universe as a noir mystery that I couldn't possibly guess where Genesis Noir wants to take me, and that's great. The Big Bang in this case is a literal shot, fired in slow motion at your lover, and to stop it means to stop the bullet - in this case the earth. It's described as a story taking place "before, during and after the Big Bang". Games in both of these categories have one thing in common - they treat play as something experimental, giving us a set of actions we as players may still be unfamiliar with. But I discover more and more games that are either very different from whatever genre corset they've been wrangled into, or on the other hand of the spectrum, games with a pitch so good I'm immediately interested even though I've got no idea what the actual experience will turn out to be. For video games, more like any other media, including board games, neat categorisation is intensely important - likely to allow for easier marketing. Many games sell themselves with their gameplay, especially if they're not part of established franchises.
